WWE Generates Over $1.1 Million From London House Show
Big business from WWE's recent tour of the UK.
WWE continue to do big business on the road, with the company's recent tour of the United Kingdom generating a tonne of money.
The post-WrestleMania tour of the UK ran from April 17 to April 20 and saw shows in Birmingham, Cardiff, London and Belfast.
The show from London's O2 Arena was especially profitable, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.
Thurston noted that the April 19 show drew $1,197,822 from 16,342 ticket sales (per Pollstar data). The average ticket price was $73. The WrestleTix estimate of tickets distributed (sales and complimentary) was 16,410.
The event was headlined (like every other stop on the tour) by Cody Rhodes defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan recently pledged to set up a taskforce to bring more major sports and entertainment events to the nation's capital, including WrestleMania. In an update, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque noted WWE was open to doing business. The last WWE pay-per-view/premium live event to take place in London was Money in the Bank 2023.
WWE are currently touring Europe and will present the Backlash France premium live event from Lyon on Saturday.
