While Nick Aldis plans to test free agency when he departs the National Wrestling Alliance in January 2023, a WWE Hall of Famer thinks his former employer should snap him up and push The National Treasure to the top of WWE by booking him to defeat Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Teddy Long revealed he would have Aldis defeat Reigns on his debut before a Cody Rhodes return.

"That's money right there. But I'll kind of do it the other way around. I'll have Nick come in first and take the belt from Roman Reigns. I'd do it that way, and then he's out there celebrating, and out of the blue, here comes Cody. He's been gone, so he'll certainly get a great pop 'cause people have missed him, and they want to see him, and a lot of people in that audience would be that audience; I'm pretty sure that are familiar with the feud he had with Nick Aldis in NWA. So, I think that would be a great combination. Hopefully, that might happen," Teddy Long said.

Aldis and Cody Rhodes previously feuded in 2018, with Rhodes defeating Aldis for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at All In. The National Treasure would regain the gold in a Two-out-of-Three Falls Match at NWA 70.
