WWE's Live Event at the Place Bell Arena in Quebec, Canada next week is under serious doubt of going ahead after the government announced a COVID-19 related shutdown in the province.

WWE had been set to host a show in Laval, Quebec, on Thursday 30 December as part of their Holiday tour, but the Quebec government announced a shutdown in the area as a result of the wide-spreading Omicron variant of coronavirus, per CBC.

As a result, all schools, bars, gyms, movie theatres, concert venues and spas were required to close as of 5pm on Monday evening with Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé saying the shutdown is necessary to prevent their healthcare system from being overwhelmed.

The decision places WWE's event in Quebec next week in serious doubt. The Place Bell Arena is set to play host to the Laval Rocket's match on Friday but with no fans permitted to attend.

PWInsider notes that WWE is no longer listing tickets for the event but tickets are still available for the Toronto, Ontario event in the same week.
