The pay-per-view has traditionally taken place between May and July, but WWE Money in the Bank was held in October this year in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Money in the Bank, overall, was a mixed bag of a show featuring some questionable booking decisions, a few sloppy moments, an entertaining opener, and a great main event.

WWE Money in the Bank 2026 GRADED:

Roman Reigns (c) def. LA Knight - WWE World Heavyweight Championship

As with pretty much every major Roman Reigns match since he returned at SummerSlam 2020, the opening contest of Money in the Bank began slowly, with some fun moments amid all the feeling-out seeing LA Knight give Roman Reigns the middle finger and the crowd chanting “YEAH!” as he walked around the ring bouncing Reigns’ head off the turnbuckle.

Reigns went for an early Superman Punch but LA Knight dodged out of the way and followed up with a flurry of offence ended by a Neckbreaker. LA Knight remained on top and threw Reigns into the ring post, with the World Heavyweight Champion fighting back after Knight spent too long getting the announce table ready, replying with a Lariat and a ring post head shot of his own. This briefly resumed the slow offence that Roman Reigns is famous for until LA Knight fired back with a Powerslam and his Jumping Elbow for a near fall. LA Knight then looked to charge at Reigns but ran straight into a Superman Punch, which recorded Roman’s first near fall of the contest.

Reigns went for a Spear but LA Knight leapfrogged out of the way, sending the champion crashing into the ring post. Knight hit a Superplex and a Burning Hammer (!!) but it was only enough for a near fall. The challenger looked for the BFT but Reigns escaped and connected with a Uranage seconds later for another near fall. The action spilt to the outside and LA Knight avoided being put through the announce table with a Powerbomb and sent Reigns crashing into the steel steps. They then exchanged punches before sprinting back into the ring at the count of nine.

Some taunting from Reigns was followed by another Superman Punch and he went for the Spear again but LA Knight hit a BFT out of nowhere, with Roman kicking out at 2.9. LA Knight then mocked Reigns’ wolf shout and ran straight into a Spear, with it being LA Knight’s turn for a late kick out. Roman Reigns then went back to taunting his opponent and tried for another Spear, with that being answered by a Spear of his own from LA Knight for another near fall.

LA Knight then decided to go running again and, having not learnt his lesson, ran straight into a Superman Punch. The counters continued as Reigns went for a Spear, only to go through the barricade after Knight moved out of the way. LA capitalised with a Powerbomb through the announce table and a Flying Elbow back in the ring but Reigns simply kicked out yet again. LA Knight tried for another BFT but Reigns blocked it, forced LA Knight’s nether regions across the top rope, and hit two Superman Punches and a Spear for the win.

After the match, 946 were in the crowd to call out Roman Reigns when The Usos and Solo Sikoa arrived behind them, leading to a brawl through the arena and outside, where 946 fled in an SUV.

Grade: B - A fun enough match but the result was never in doubt as LA Knight, once again, came up short in a world title match. The in-ring action was entertaining and it was much better than their Crown Jewel 2023 match, with LA Knight having a couple of close near falls which had the New Orleans crowd biting, but it was still a very predictable result.

Tiffany Stratton def. Lash Legend, Sol Ruca, Roxanne Perez, Lola Vice & Jacy Jayne - Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match

The first big spot of the match was a rough one as Tiffany Stratton went for a Moonsault from the top of a ladder on the outside to the rest of the field, only to not rotate enough and her head clonked off the floor. WWE referees quickly checked on Stratton and she was okay to continue, preventing Jacy Jayne from scaling the ladder in the ring.

Roxanne Perez then introduced a mini ladder and battered Lola Vice with it, with Lash Legend then just booting the mini ladder into Perez. A couple of rough-looking exchanges followed, first with Tiffany Stratton and Sol Ruca and then Roxanne Perez and Lash Legend, with the next big spot seeing Perez hit a Springboard Moonsault to both Lash Legend and Sol Ruca while they were draped across a ladder.

Tiffany Stratton was next to climb a ladder but Sol Ruca cut her off with a springboard to the ladder. Jacy Jayne pushed over the ladder but Sol Ruca clung on to the briefcase before she dropped to wipe out Lash Legend, Tiffany Stratton, and Jacy Jayne who were waiting underneath. Legend then went back on offence and hit a Double Chokeslam to Stratton and Perez onto the ladder. Legend then climbed the ladder but was cut off by Sol Ruca, who went for a Sunset Flip Powerbomb. They weren’t on the same page, however, and the move just didn’t happen. Ruca did hit a Frog Splash through a ladder to Lash Legend seconds later, though, in a cool spot.

There was another rough spot after that as Jacy Jayne reached the top of the ladder, only for Lola Vice to apply a chokehold. They then both tumbled down onto a ladder bridge, but the ladder slid to the outside, taking Vice and Jayne with it.

Roxanne Perez went after the briefcase next but she was cut off with a Sol Snatcher from the ladder by Sol Ruca. Lash Legend then cut off Sol Ruca and sent her head bouncing off the ladder, only for Legend to be cut off by Tiffany Stratton at the top of the ladder. Stratton swung the briefcase repeatedly into Lash Legend’s face, knocking her off the ladder. Seconds later, Tiffany grabbed the briefcase for the win.

Grade: C+ - This was a MITB Ladder Match that had a couple of memorable moments, with both involving Sol Ruca, but those were heavily outweighed by rough-looking spots in the contest. The decision to book Tiffany Stratton to win was also the least-interesting option, with Stratton feeling particularly cold in 2026.

Oba Femi def. Bronson Reed

The third match started quickly as Oba Femi and Bronson Reed exchanged blows in the opening seconds, with Oba Femi just throwing Reed across the ring. Reed went to the outside to regroup and they exchanged more blows on the apron, with Reed winning the exchange with a Back Suplex onto the hardest part of the ring before he followed up with a Suicide Dive.

Reed continued with the power offence, including just diving on Oba’s back while Femi was in a seated position. Oba looked to fire back with a Powerbomb but Reed simply blocked it and hit a Senton before Bronson looked for a Tsunami, with Oba rolling away before he fired back with a Running European Uppercut, replied to by Bronson with a Stinger Splash and DDT. Reed crashed and burned on the Tsunami attempt at the second time of asking.

Oba Femi hit several Running European Uppercuts and a Spinebuster for a near fall. Before Femi could follow up, The Vision arrived at ringside but the referee saw Logan Paul roll into the ring with a chair and ejected him. This allowed Austin Theory to slip brass knuckles to Bronson Reed, though, and Bronson connected with two big brass knuckles shots and a Tsunami, only for Oba Femi to kick out at two.

Reed remained on offence with a Death Valley Driver but Oba Femi then avoided a Moonsault. A Running European Uppercut, a Chokeslam to Austin Theory, and a Fall from Grace saw Oba Femi pick up the win.

Grade: B- - This match was exactly what it needed to be as two meaty men had a simple, fun meaty man clash, with Oba Femi continuing to look like WWE’s next top star.

Liv Morgan (c) def. Stephanie Vaquer & Becky Lynch - Triple Threat for the WWE Women's World Championship

Not a great deal happened in the opening minutes until Stephanie Vaquer wiped out both of her opponents with a Crossbody from the top turnbuckle to the floor, tweaking her knee in the process. This was followed by a Sunset Flip Powerbomb to the floor from Liv Morgan to Becky Lynch before Liv threw Vaquer into the steel steps and connected with Three Amigos back in the ring, with the third one resulting in Vaquer being Suplexed onto Becky Lynch.

Soon after, Vaquer fought back and hit the Devil’s Kiss to Liv Morgan, with Vaquer still hobbling from the earlier Crossbody. A couple of rough spots followed as Vaquer kept checking on her knee.

It was Becky Lynch’s turn to have time on top with a Bexploder and Double DDT. Lynch and Vaquer then worked together, taking down Liv Morgan with a Double Suplex but their alliance quickly came to an end when they couldn’t decide where to position the Slim Jim table. Lynch and Vaquer then just took an age grappling while they worked out what they wanted to do in a sloppy spot ended by Liv Morgan getting a near fall from Vaquer following a Shotgun Dropkick.

Soon after, Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer exchanged Half Crabs, with Becky Lynch joining the action with the Disarm-Her to Morgan. Vaquer and Lynch proceeded to just Headbutt each other, with Lynch winning the exchange before a Manhandle Slam to Liv Morgan. The pin was broken up by Vaquer, though.

Next, Stephanie Vaquer went for a Tarantula but botched it and she and Lynch just fell to the floor. This led to Meteoras against the steel steps to both Morgan and Lynch. Vaquer connected with a Spiral Tap to Morgan back in the ring and she had the match won until Lynch pulled referee Jessika Carr out of the ring to break up the pin.

Soon after, Vaquer bounced Becky Lynch’s head off the top rope and hit a Superkick, sending Lynch landing onto the table but not breaking it. Seconds later, Liv Morgan came from out of nowhere and connected with Oblivion to Vaquer for the win.

Grade: C - A Triple Threat that featured three of WWE’s top women’s wrestlers but what happened in the ring felt like it belonged more on an episode of Raw than a pay-per-view, with a number of sloppy moments and an overall match that wasn’t particularly exciting. Liv Morgan winning was expected but, after her most recent dud of a reign, hardly generates much excitement either.

Penta def. Bron Breakker, Je'Von Evans, Kevin Owens, CM Punk & Trick Williams - Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match

CM Punk and Kevin Owens looked set to clash in the opening moments, only for Trick Williams to get in the way. Je’Von Evans hit the first big move of the match, though, jumping over a ladder and wiping out the field. Penta then replied with a Tope Con Hilo to the floor to big cheers from the fans in New Orleans.

The next big spot saw Bron Breakker hit CM Punk and Penta with a Double German Suplex as Punk was halfway up for a Penta Driver. Breakker was the first man to try and climb the ladder but he was blocked by Punk, with Kevin Owens then blocking Punk by swinging Punk’s foot into the wood. Bron Breakker then spent time stopping everyone from climbing the ladder which ended with a knee to Penta. Breakker then just about kept his footing to run across the barricade and hit a shoulder tackle to Trick Williams, only for his gloating to be cut short when Kevin Owens pulled his legs out from under him, causing Breakker to land on the announce table.

Owens and CM Punk then brawled, with Punk just throwing a chair at KO. Everyone then ended up in the timekeeper’s area except for Je’Von Evans and Bron Breakker. Instead of Evans going for the win, he danced around ringside straight into a Spear into the barricade from Breakker. This brought out a stretcher for Evans as CM Punk got stuck in the ladder back in the ring and ate a Superkick and PK from Penta. With Punk still dangling, Kevin Owens just had fun dropping a ladder on Punk before just stomping Punk’s nether regions. All while this was going on, the broadcast showed Je’Von Evans being taken away in an ambulance, with Punk hitting a Backdrop to Owens’ bollocks first into the ladder.

Trick Williams next looked to scale the ladder after assistance from Lil Yachty, but KO pulled down Trick and then Lil Yachty, delivering a Stunner. Owens was cut off by CM Punk, though, and Penta cut off CM Punk, who responded with a GTS. CM Punk then scaled the ladder and was about to win when Kevin Owens charged up the ladder and stuck his finger in Punk’s eyes. This knocked Punk from the ladder but he stopped KO from winning. Punk then had Owens up for a GTS but he turned straight into a Spear from Bron Breakker. Breakker followed up with a Spear to Kevin Owens on the ladder and Bron killed Penta on the outside with a Spear when Penta went for a Canadian Destroyer. Another Spear followed, this time to Trick Williams.

Bron Breakker then just started smiling and ran all the way around the ringside area and Speared Kevin Owens and CM Punk, who had started brawling again, through the barricade. With everyone down, the ambulance drove down to ringside, being driven by Je’Von Evans, who went wild on Bron Breakker, stomping a mudhole in him. Je’Von Evans then ran wild on everyone, ending with an OG Cutter to Trick Williams.

Je’Von Evans had trouble with the ladders, though, and took an absolute eternity getting a giant ladder set up. This all gave Bron Breakker time to recover and their exchange ended with a Dropkick from Je’Von, but the ladder had moved to the edge of the ring overlooking the ambulance. Evans, like an idiot, climbed the ladder and he was sent crashing to the outside through the roof of the ambulance by Breakker as a result of his stupidity. That still wasn’t enough for Bron Breakker to win as he received a Mexican Destroyer onto a ladder from Penta.

This left Penta all alone and he grabbed the briefcase to win the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Grade: A- - An excellent Money in the Bank Ladder match with plenty of story threads, notably how CM Punk and Kevin Owens were more interested in stopping each other winning than actually winning themselves. The match was also a great showcase for Bron Breakker and Je’Von Evans capped off by the incredible spot of Evans going through the roof of an ambulance that will be on WWE’s highlight packages for years to come. The match also had a popular winner in Penta, who continues what has been a great 20 months or so in WWE so far.

Show Grade: C+ - Money in the Bank was very much a mixed bag of a show. The main event was great and the true standout of the pay-per-view. Oba Femi vs. Bronson Reed was also fun and LA Knight vs. Roman Reigns was entertaining, but the other two matches on the card featured sloppy moments. There were also multiple questionable booking decisions at Money in the Bank, notably Tiffany Stratton winning Money in the Bank and Liv Morgan regaining the WWE Women’s World Title, while Roman Reigns retaining over LA Knight was obvious as soon as the match was announced. The sheer amount of downtime in between matches on WWE pay-per-views also remains absolutely egregious, with Money in the Bank being another show filled with advert after advert after advert, and then there are more adverts when the wrestling happens.
