Although ticket sales have been worse than WWE expected, the company aren't planning to make tickets for WrestleMania 42 any cheaper, at least for now.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has reported that WWE held a multi-department meeting on Wednesday, February 11 in order to address the lower-than-expected ticket sales for the company's biggest weekend of the year. The meeting resulted in all departments being tasked with working out promotions and strategies to try and boost ticket sales and increase momentum for WrestleMania 42. One of those strategies won't be making it cheaper to attend WrestleMania, though, with WrestleVotes noting the company are planning to keep ticket prices for the Showcase of the Immortals as they are for the time being.
One recent strategy to increase ticket sales has seen WWE block establishments within 50 miles of Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium from broadcasting WrestleMania 42 and holding watch parties. A number of establishments are unhappy with the new directive as the city of Las Vegas paid a site fee for WrestleMania 42 to try and increase tourism.
As of last week, ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 were down around 16.5 per cent compared to the same time for WrestleMania 41, which also took place at Allegiant Stadium.
Ticket prices for WrestleMania 42 are high. The cheapest one-day ticket currently costs $266, with tickets rising to $16,000 to sit in the second row. A two-day ticket begins at $738 and rises to $46,000 for the second row.
On average, WWE ticket prices have doubled since the completion of the WWE-UFC merger under TKO Group Holdings in September 2023.
