WWE NXT Personnel Reportedly Say The Brand Is 'Just Not Fun Anymore'

Beth Phoenix and Scotty 2 Hotty have both left the brand

People within the NXT brand set-up have reportedly said that they do not find working for the WWE developmental brand 'fun anymore'.

NXT has undergone a radical transformation in the past few months, relaunching as NXT 2.0 with a greater focus on searching for WWE's next big megastar. As such, many of the names who thrived in the old NXT are now no longer giving the same opportunities to perform and grow.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live regarding Beth Phoenix's departure from her NXT commentary role, Bryan Alvarez noted that the WWE Hall Of Famer is remaining with WWE and has made the choice to move on from NXT herself.

He adds that she might not be the last person to do so, saying others have told him it is just not an enjoyable environment.

Alvarez said, “It’s not like she couldn’t do the main roster feud with Miz & Maryse and also do NXT commentary. She has just decided she is done with NXT. Whatever that means, she says it’s due to family, but this also, again might not be the last person.

"Because no matter what you guys think about me or anyone else saying that it sucks — it does. There are people there who have told me that it’s just not fun anymore."

Scotty 2 Hotty also left WWE NXT last month, requesting his release from his coaching position.
