WWE NXT Results - August 3, 2021

Everything from the latest edition of NXT

WWE brought fans another taped edition of NXT on August 3 due to the USA Network's ongoing coverage of the Summer Olympic Games and the company advanced multiple storylines as the build to NXT TakeOver 36 continues.

Dexter Lumis and Indi Hartwell's potential relationship hung in the balance in the main event as The Tortured Artist squared off with The Way's Johnny Gargano in a Love Her or Lose Her Match. Lumis tried to overcome Gargano during their encounter but the former NXT Champion ultimately picked up the win with One Final Beat. Love would prevail regardless, though, as Indi rushed back into the ring after the match and made out with Lumis as NXT went off the air.

Dakota Kai also explained why she turned on best friend Raquel Gonzalez last week and The Captain Of Team Kick revealed she was sick of the NXT Women's Champion taking her spotlight away. Gonzalez got her start in NXT alongside Kai and Dakota noted she couldn't just be Raquel's sidekick, especially as she was the one who mentored her to the top.

The rivalry between Samoa Joe and Karrion Kross continued as well. William Regal warned Joe early in the night that security were at the Capitol Wrestling Center to keep him and Kross apart. The NXT Champion wanted to goad Joe, though, and he mocked The Samoan Submission Machine at the announce table. This prompted Joe to charge to the ring and he annihilated all of the security in the building as Kross quietly disappeared.

A budding tag team between LA Knight and Cameron Grimes also took on Grizzled Young Veterans. The former Eli Drake was just messing with his butler, though, and he walked out on Grimes after The Technical Savage reached out for a tag. This left Grimes at the mercy of GYV and they put him away with a Ticket To Mayhem for the win.

Elsewhere on the show, Ridge Holland picked up a win in his return match, Trey Baxter defeated Joe Gacy to advance in the NXT Breakout Tournament, Roderick Strong vanquished former friend Bobby Fish, and Legado del Fantasma laid out Hit Row after their tag team match ended in a disqualification.

Check out the full results below:
