WWE NXT's Kushida Thinks MSK Have The Potential To Change Tag Team History

Praise for the NXT Tag Team Champions

Since debuting in NXT back in January 2021, MSK have taken the tag team division by storm. Wes Lee and Nash Carter have defeated everyone they have faced so far and they have won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and the NXT Tag Team Championship after only three months on TV.

WWE seemingly sees big things in the former Rascalz and so does Kushida. The reigning NXT Cruiserweight Champion recently noted on social media that he thinks MSK can "change tag team history." He also reflected on a conversation he had with his former tag team partner Alex Shelley, who asked him to watch over the young team.

Kushida tweeted: "About a half year ago, my long time friend Alex Shelley sent me a text message. He told me that a great new tag team was coming to the NXT. He said they have a lot of potential. And he asked me to take good care of them.

"When MSK arrived to the NXT, they made an immediate impression on me. And I understood why Alex Shelley spoke so highly of them. In my opinion, they have the potential to change tag team history. They remind me of some of the other great teams that I have worked with over the years. This Tuesday, I will have the opportunity to fulfil my promise."

Alex Shelley previously worked with MSK during the tag team's run as The Rascalz in IMPACT Wrestling. They departed the Nashville-based promotion in November 2020 and signed with WWE soon after.

Kushida will team with MSK against Legado del Fantasma on this week's NXT. Other matches announced for the show are Mercedes Martinez vs. Dakota Kai and Bronson Reed vs. Austin Theory.
