WWE NXT UK Signs Five New Superstars
Ilja Dragunov, Kay Lee Ray, and Jazzy Gabert among the new arrivals...
WWE NXT UK has today announced the signing of five new talents from across Europe. Ilja Rukober, Kay Lee Ray, Jazzy Gabert, Oliver Sauter and Jay Melrose have all joined the roster.
Rukober is better known to fans across the world as Ilja Dragunov, making a name for himself in promotions such as WXW over in Germany, Ireland's OTT, and PROGRESS. WWE's press release regarding the signing states: "He (Dragunov) turned heads at a WWE tryout in Cologne last November."
Kay Lee Ray and Jazzy Gabert will be familiar to those who watched the inaugural Mae Young Classic back in 2017. KLR is, of course, a three-time ICW Women's Champion, while Gabert has made her name as one of the biggest powerhouses in the women's game today thanks to her work in Germany primarily.
Sauter is said to be "fast-moving and hard-hitting," and worked across Europe under the guise of Oliver Carter.
And last but not least, Jay Melrose will be better known to fans the world over as The Primate, thanks to his appearances in Defiant and more recently on the weekly NXT UK WWE Network show.
