WWE Provides Update On Rey Mysterio's Injury

Rey Mysterio will be out for some time

It was revealed earlier this week by Rey Mysterio himself that he had undergone a surgery on his knee, posting this news with a picture of his leg all wrapped up on a hospital bed. Mysterio had been working through injuries for several months, with reports stating it had been a torn meniscus.

On last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE provided an official update on Mysterio’s condition, and confirmed that the WWE Hall of Famer would be out for several months following this surgery. This confirms earlier reports from Haus of Wrestling that the former world champion would be on the side-lines for at least two months.

Mysterio recently dropped the United States Championship to Logan Paul at the Crown Jewel 2023 event, and was also on the end of a brutal attack from his LWO ally Santos Escobar in the aftermath of this, writing him off television in order to have this surgery. In the meantime, Escobar has begun feuding with the other LWO members, and is set to face Carlito at Survivor Series.
