WWE Raw Results - April 5, 2021: WrestleMania 37 Go-Home Show

The red brand's last stop before Raymond James Stadium

The go-home edition of Monday Night Raw before WrestleMania 37 is now in the books and the red brand put the finishing touches on multiple feuds ahead of The Showcase Of The Immortals.

The show opened with a promo from Drew McIntyre during which he reflected on the sacrifices he had made to reach the top of the mountain. He recalled leaving Scotland and remaining in the United States even while his mother was sick and reflected on her telling him she would kick his arse if he went home. The former WWE Champion noted she told him to keep pushing forward and keep sacrificing and that's exactly what he has done ever since. McIntyre then asked Lashley how he can beat a man who is willing to sacrifice everything before he promised to defeat King Corbin later in the show and end the All Mighty era at WrestleMania 37.

This ultimately brought out MVP and Bobby Lashley. The WWE Champion sympathised with McIntyre's journey to the top and he admitted Drew was a great champion. His time is over, though, Lashley stated and it's now time for the All Mighty era.

McIntyre then tried to goad Lashley into getting in the ring but MVP interjected and tried to convince the audience at home that McIntyre might not make it to WrestleMania after his match with King Corbin. The current King Of The Ring arrived on the ramp moments later and promised to whoop McIntyre's punk ass to end the segment.

The first match of the evening followed and Xavier Woods went one on one with AJ Styles ahead of their Raw Tag Team Championship match at The Show Of Shows. The Phenomenal One was unable to turn his fortunes around, though, and Xavier Woods picked up the win after just over a minute.

Styles initially appeared to have the match won after he locked in the Calf Crusher, but he relinquished the hold following a Kofi Kingston distraction and Woods trapped the two-time WWE Champion in a small package moments later for the 1-2-3.

The continuation of the rivalry between Braun Strowman and Shane McMahon was next on the agenda following a commercial break and The Monster Among Men cut a promo inside a steel cage. Strowman noted he has dealt with bullying his whole life and he promised to whoop Shane's ass for everyone who has ever been called stupid and told they weren't good enough. Braun then promised Shane would leave WrestleMania in a body bag before the Prodigal Son made his way to the ramp.

Shane claimed he let Strowman pick the stipulation for their 'Mania match because he wanted to test Braun's intelligence and McMahon admitted he was surprised because a Steel Cage match wasn't a stupid selection. Nevertheless, he promised to outwit and defeat Strowman at the weekend because he is a McMahon.

Elias and Jaxson Ryker headed to the ring for their scheduled Handicap match with Braun moments later and they once again ended up on the losing side as Strowman put them away with a pair of Powerslams after two minutes.

Raw turned its attention to The Miz and John Morrison's rivalry with Bad Bunny and Damian Priest shortly after and the former SmackDown Tag Team Champions painted all over Bad Bunny's Bugatti. The rapper got wind of the situation after the commercial break, but he found himself on the receiving end of a sneak attack from Miz and Morrison, who had to be chased off by Adam Pearce as Damian Priest didn't appear onscreen until Bad Bunny was receiving medical attention.

The build to the Raw Women's Championship match continued next as Asuka and Rhea Ripley teamed together against Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax.

The Women's Tag Team Champions worked over Ripley for much of the 10-minute match, but The Nightmare eventually managed to make the hot tag to Asuka. The Empress Of Tomorrow then ran roughshod over her opponents until Ripley attacked her tag team partner and left Asuka at the mercy of a PK from Shayna Baszler for the 1-2-3.

The fallout from the break-up of The Hurt Business was next up and Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin confronted MVP backstage. They told him he was nothing more than a parasite and said they can't wait to see McIntyre beat Lashley and expose MVP as a fraud. The former Hurt Business men then departed and Sarah Schreiber quickly swooped in for a chat with the former United States Champion. MVP noted he was disappointed in Alexander and Benjamin and then claimed they were only relevant because of him.

This led in to the scheduled match between Bobby Lashley and Cedric Alexander after the commercial break. Alexander had the upper hand before the bell after Benjamin attacked Lashley, but The All Mighty quickly took control and dominated much of the action inside the squared circle.

The former Cruiserweight Champion did manage to hit some offence after more Benjamin interference later in the match, but Lashley once again overpowered his former friend and forced him to pass out in the Hurt Lock soon after. Benjamin then found himself on the mat moments after the bell as Lashley quickly halted his attack with a Flatliner and the Hurt Lock.

A video package hyping Randy Orton vs. The Fiend followed and Bad Bunny and Damian Priest were stood in the ring after the broadcast returned to the squared circle. Priest quickly challenged The Miz and Morrison to face him and Bunny in a tag team match at WrestleMania and Bad Bunny took over and talked about how much he loves wrestling and how he has respected the business. He did not receive the same respect from Miz, however, who has done nothing but disrespect him for no reason. Bad Bunny then broke into Spanish and promised to whoop The A-Lister's ass at WrestleMania.

The artists behind 'Hey Hey Hop Hop' popped on the screen seconds later and accepted Priest's challenge. Miz then stated Bad Bunny doesn't belong in WWE and they left Tropicana Field in a limo.

Mustafa Ali vs. Riddle with Sheamus on commentary followed after a commercial break. The former SmackDown Hacker and the United States Champion continued to display good chemistry inside the squared circle and Riddle managed to pick up the win after reversing a Tornado DDT into the Bro Derek. Sheamus and Riddle then stared each other down and each promised to walk away as United States Champion at WrestleMania.

It was then finally time for the main event. Drew McIntyre and King Corbin battled back and forth for 18 minutes while MVP sat on commentary. The Hurt Business man's presence ultimately led to Corbin's downfall, though, as he handed the King Of The Ring his cane in the closing stages, but McIntyre ducked the weapon shot and connected with the Claymore for the 1-2-3.

Lashley then made his way to the ramp while McIntyre celebrated and the two men stared at each other as Raw went off the air.
