WWE Raw Results - May 31, 2021

A number one contenders match and a Tag Team Title bout!

The May 31, 2021 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw was broadcast live from the WWE ThunderDome and saw the WWE Championship match for Hell In A Cell confirmed, as well as the Raw Tag Team Championships defended.

Key moments from the red brand saw a war of words between Charlotte Flair and Raw Women's champion Rhea Ripley turn into a match between the former and Nikki Cross. Cross, much like last week, got the better of her opponent in a Beat The Clock Challenge.

Randy Orton took a page out of his tag-team partner Riddle's book, defeating Xavier Woods with the Bro Derek just a week after Riddle got a victory with an RKO. Shayna Baszler was pinned by Reginald after being distracted by flames shooting out of the turnbuckle. Later in the show, Baszler would confront Alexa Bliss about her involvement in the angle, warning her that they 'need to have a chat' next week.

United States champion Sheamus was beaten in successive matches, by Ricochet and Humberto Carrillo, and sustained a reported broken nose in the latter. Cedric Alexander got the win over Shelton Benjamin in a quick rubber match, before AJ Styles & Omos retained the Raw Tag Team Titles against Elias and Jaxson Ryker, after the former refused to tag in.

In the main event, Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston would clash for the right to challenge WWE Champion Bobby Lashley at Hell In A Cell. The Scottish Warrior would catch Kingston coming out of the air with a nasty looking Claymore to get the win, and punch his ticket to the June 20 Network Special.
