WWE Reportedly Considering Moving Royal Rumble 2022 to February

Are changes coming to the WWE schedule?

WWE are reportedly considering moving the Royal Rumble back from January to February in 2022 for the first time ever.

The Royal Rumble has been a staple of WWE's annual event calendar since its inception in 1988 and has always been produced and broadcast in late January, but Fightful Select are reporting that this could change in 2022.

The report indicates that significant talks have been held internally in WWE about pushing the Royal Rumble into early February for the first time in history.

Of course, nothing is set in stone, but such a move would shorten the famous 'Road To WrestleMania' and could potentially open the door for another WWE pay-per-view in early January as well.

The report goes on to suggest that St. Louis, Missouri, is considered the front runner to play host to the 2022 Royal Rumble. Sources within WWE suggest that the 'end game' will be WWE holding the Royal Rumble in St. Louis, but nothing has been confirmed by the promotion at this time.
