WWE Reportedly Open To Increasing Salary To Incoming Developmental Talent

The likes of ROH and AEW are seemingly changing the industry...

With ROH currently signing many performers to exclusive contracts in the United States, and All Elite Wrestling assembling a roster fronted by Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks and "Hangman" Adam Page, it looks like WWE's aggressive talent signing policy of the last few months is only going to become even stronger.

This comes hot on the heels of Dave Meltzer (speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio) revealing a rather interesting tale about a talent WWE tried to sign.

WWE reportedly offered a contract to a wrestler whose current deal is up in a couple of months. But due to the competition they now have from the likes of ROH, AEW, and others for signatures, Triple H et al offered more money than they have in the past.

Here's what Dave said on WOR: "Nothing that hasn't been rumoured, and imminently. But there's also an instance of someone who is under contract to a company, they're going to be out of contract with the company in a couple of months.

"WWE, and another company, and maybe even two other companies, were involved in being interested in this person. And this would be a developmental deal but I will say that the developmental money compared to others that WWE has offered was way, way higher. Multiples. Because the business has changed so much, and because of everything that's going on."
