WWE have decided to shake up their ring announcers.

The previous arrangement saw Samantha Irvin be the ring announcer on Monday Night Raw, while Mike Rome was on-hand for Friday Night SmackDown, and Alicia Taylor did the announcements on WWE NXT. It had been rumoured in recent days, though, that Alicia Taylor would be moving to the main roster and Shawn Michaels confirmed following Tuesday night's episode of NXT that Taylor will be the ring announcer on SmackDown moving forward.

"An irreplaceable part of the soundtrack for countless unforgettable #WWENXT moments, and now she's bringing her unending passion to #SmackDown. @AliciaTaylorNXT, thank you for everything you've brought to the #NXTUniverse... and congratulations on your next step! #WeAreNXT," Michaels tweeted.

Samantha Irvin will remain on Monday Night Raw, while Mike Rome will be moving back to NXT, having been the ring announcer on the brand from 2016 until 2019. There is no word on why WWE decided to swap around their ring announcers.

Following a brief stint of Kayla Braxton being the ring announcer for NXT, Alicia Taylor took on the role in 2019 and she had been on the developmental brand ever since.
