Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is believed to be undergoing medical tests this week to determine the severity of his ongoing neck issues.

McIntyre was written off of WWE TV at the Day 1 PPV after being attacked backstage by Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss, with reports subsequently emerging that McIntyre’s neck has been giving him issues, and the angle was used to get Drew off of TV.

New reports from PWInsider state that McIntyre has been spotted at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, where WWE medical director Dr. Joseph Maroon works. WWE often send performers to see Dr. Maroon for medical evaluations before proceeding with the right course of action.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer indicated that McIntyre would be undergoing tests this week, with WWE hoping that Drew can be back in time for WrestleMania 38, with the hope that McIntyre’s problems won’t require surgery.

It’s believed that McIntyre’s neck issues have been nagging for several weeks, likely exacerbated by McIntyre pulling double duty on WWE’s recent house show loop.
