WWE Very Happy With Jelly Roll's SummerSlam Appearance

A certain WWE legend has also pitched teaming with Jelly Roll

Jelly Roll proved to be a popular hit at SummerSlam as the singer/songwriter made several appearances across the August 3 pay-per-view.

Jason Bradley DeFord first performed a rendition of 'God Bless America' before switching to one of his new singles to kick off SummerSlam inside Cleveland Browns Stadium. Jelly Roll then sat at ringside for the show, including for a time with Machine Gun Kelly, before Roll came to the aid of The Miz and R-Truth in the semi-main event segment, helping the tag team take out Austin Theory and Grayson Waller with a Chokeslam followed by a Five Knuckle Shuffle.

According to Fightful Select, WWE were "very happy" with Jelly Roll's appearance at SummerSlam and his performance on the pay-per-view. Whether the company plan to work with him more in the future is unknown but John Cena has admitted he would be open to teaming with Jelly Roll during his 2025 retirement tour.

"Have listened to his music, had the privilege of spending some time with him, and now know I have a GREAT option for a tag team partner anytime @WWE comes to Nashville! @JellyRoll615’s Time is Now!!!! #SummerSlam," Cena tweeted on X.

Jelly Roll's performance was certainly received better than Hardy's at Royal Rumble 2023, which was "scoffed at" within the company.
