Xavier Woods Returns To The Ring At WWE House Show

The King of the Ring has returned

Reigning WWE King of the Ring Xavier Woods is back after a two-month injury absence, returning to the ring at a WWE house show in Jackson, MS on Saturday.

Woods returned as part of a triple threat tag team match, teaming with Kofi Kingston to face SmackDown Tag Team champions The Usos, and Sheamus and Ridge Holland.

Woods had been out of action with a torn plantaris muscle in his lower leg. His last match took place on January 7, teaming with Kingston to face The Usos in a street fight on SmackDown.

Woods' return comes a day after New Day partner Big E sustained a broken neck during a tag match against Sheamus and Holland on SmackDown. Holland attempted an overhead belly to belly on Big E outside the ring, but Big E didn't get the desired rotation and landed right on his head.

Big E later revealed that he suffered two fractured vertebrae, but will not need surgery.

Fightful Select reported that prior to Big E's injury, the three New Day members were scheduled to team at WrestleMania 38 against Sheamus, Holland, and Butch (the recently called-up Pete Dunne).
