AEW Dynamite Draws Its Lowest Ever Rating

AEW Dynamite decreased drastically in viewership from last week

Taking one look on social media, you’ll see discourse on a weekly basis about AEW’s TV ratings. 2024 has seen a decline in both attendance figures and viewership figures, though this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite received a notably steep decline in viewership, making the show the lowest viewed episode in the history of the company (in its usual Wednesday timeslot).

Programming Insider showed that Dynamite had a massive 26.3% drop in viewership from last week, averaging at 502,000 viewers across the 2-hour show. The 18-49 demo rating for the show was down a massive 30.4% from the previous week, with a 0.16 rating which was third in the cable sharts.

As opposed to other weeks where Dynamite has seen a sharp decline in figures, there was no major sporting competition at the same time as Dynamite, nor any other big competitors that would explain this sort of drop. Olympic Trials and a Kendrick Lamar concert on Amazon Prime were both head-to-head with Dynamite, but this was deemed to not be enough to explain such a figure. When it comes to AEW’s yearly drops in viewership, the same show in 2023 was 44.4% up from Wednesday’s figure.
