AEW’s Mark Henry Appears To Rule Out In-Ring Return

The World’s Strongest Man last wrestled in 2018

When Mark Henry shockingly arrived in AEW at Double or Nothin in May 2021, many questioned whether ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ would have one last run in the ring. But according to Henry himself, that doesn’t appear likely.

Henry was talking with i95’s Large Dave, when the subject of an in-ring return, to which Henry simply said:

“HA HA HA HA HA HA! I mean, Man, you made me laugh, I’m not getting back in there! If somebody hits me, I’m callin’ the police!”

Henry last wrestled in WWE’s greatest Royal Rumble in 2018, with his last singles match being a loss to Braun Strowman on WWE RAW in February 2017.

With fellow WWE Hall of Famer Paul Wight having wrestled a handful of matches since joining AEW, many fans assumed Henry would be hot on his tail, and despite revealing that he felt he could still go, Henry has been steadfast on staying retired:

“If that happens [jumping off of commentary and into the ring], it's going to be a surprise to me. That will be a surprise, man. I am no spring chicken,” said Henry to Miami’s 940 Winz in August.
