AEW Signs Action Andretti Following Shock Win Over Chris Jericho

Action Andretti is ‘All Elite’ after defeating Chris Jericho on AEW Dynamite

The December 14 edition of AEW Dynamite gave Chris Jericho a chance of redemption, but the recently dethroned ROH Champion instead took a shock loss against Action Andretti in what was seen as a routine lay-up win for ‘The Ocho’.

After getting the win of his career over Jericho, Tony Khan took to Twitter to confirm that Andretti had signed with AEW and was now ‘All Elite’: "Congratulations! It's official! @ActionAndretti is ALL ELITE! Thank you to everyone watching #WinterIsComing on @TBSNetwork Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite TONIGHT!"

Dynamite was Andretti’s fifth AEW appearance in his career, with his four previous outings coming across Dark and Dark: Elevation, with Andretti suffering four straight losses before his shock win over Jericho.

Andretti’s victory on Dynamite has already been compared to the 1-2-3 Kid’s shock win over Razor Ramon on WWF Monday Night Raw in 1993, with that win serving as the launchpad for Sean Waltman’s career. Waltman himself acknowledged this on twitter, tagging Andretti in a tweet that was merely a gif of actor Charles Dance applauding.
