AEW Signs Former WCW Talent

WCW talent heads to AEW

A former talent from World Championship Wrestling has signed with AEW.

Fightful Select has reported that Glacier (real name Ray Lloyd) was recently signed by All Elite Wrestling and he has been working behind the scenes as a producer and coach. Speculation that Glacier had joined the company was fuelled after he was spotted breaking up a fight on a recent episode of Dynamite.

Glacier does have history with AEW, having competed in the Casino Battle Royale at Double or Nothing 2019, before he was eliminated by MJF.

Ray Lloyd portrayed Glacier in World Championship Wrestling from 1996 until 1999. The gimmick's similarities to Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat resulted in WCW allegedly being sued by Midway Games. Glacier's theatrics were toned down following a brief hiatus from TV due to the lawsuit.

Glacier has yet to fully retire from pro wrestling and he was in action in February 2024 for QT Marshall's Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling at the Nightmare Factory.

All Elite Wrestling have signed a number of producers over the past year after the promotion added Collision to their slate of programming, including the likes of Jimmy Jacobs and Chris Hero. Former TNA writer RD Evans was also recently added to the AEW creative team.
