Andrade El Idolo Says He Can't Work In NJPW

No Andrade El Idolo in NJPW it seems

Old rivalries are seemingly preventing Andrade El Idolo from performing in New Japan Pro-Wrestling as the AEW talent tweeted today: "I can't work with NJPW, thanks CMLL and AAA."

Mexican promotions AAA and CMLL have long had issues to the point that CMLL will not book talent that have worked for AAA. CMLL will also try to stop promotions they are affiliated with from booking wrestlers who perform for AAA. CMLL and NJPW have had a working relationship since 2009 and they reaffirmed that relationship last year.

Andrade had a long history with CMLL, performing for the promotion as La Sombra until 2015, when he left to sign with WWE. El Idolo has performed in Mexico for AAA since he joined All Elite Wrestling, though, and he last competed for the promotion on April 30 at TripleMania XXX: Monterrey.

Konnan, who is involved behind the scenes with AAA, replied to Andrade's tweet, writing: "We have nothing to do with NJ or. CMLL arcane decisions."

Several AEW talents have worked for NJPW in recent months, including the likes of Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley, and Wheeler Yuta. Lance Archer will also compete in NJPW G1 Climax 32 this summer and AEW will hold the joint Forbidden Door pay-per-view with NJPW on June 26.
