Big E Reveals He Narrowly Avoided "A Stroke, Paralysis, Or Death" Following Neck Injury
Big E narrowly avoided disaster after injuring his neck on SmackDown
As Big E continues to recover from a broken neck, he has shared more details on just how serious the situation could have been.
In a tweet sent yesterday, the former WWE Champion wrote:
"Had my first doctor's appointment and learning (because of the C1 fracture) I narrowly escaped a stroke, paralysis or death is very sobering. Life feels even more precious and valuable now".
Big E suffered the injury on the March 11 episode of SmackDown when he took a bad bump on a belly to belly suplex outside of the ring (delivered by Ridge Holland) during a tag match.
He fractured his C1 and C6 vertebrae and was stretchered out of the arena, though he later confirmed that the injury would not require surgery.
However, Dr. David Chao has speculated that Big E's in-ring career could be over as a result of the injury, noting that a C1 fracture is "commonly associated with immediate death or complete paralysis".
