Carmelo Hayes' First Challenger For The WWE NXT Title Revealed

Carmelo Hayes will defend the NXT Title at Spring Breakin'

Carmelo Hayes' first challenger for the NXT Championship has been revealed.

The April 11 edition of NXT was main evented by a Fatal 4-Way to determine the number one contender for the NXT Championship. JD McDonagh and Dragon Lee were added to the match ahead of NXT and Carmelo Hayes invited Bron Breakker to be a part of the match but the former NXT Champion rejected the offer later in the night, noting that he turned heel because he realised the NXT Title was a curse on his career and he no longer needed the fans. Duke Hudson took Breakker's spot in the match and Grayson Waller was also involved.

After the main event got underway, it was Grayson Waller who scored the victory. Dragon Lee initially looked to have the match won following a Running Powerbomb to Hudson but Waller suddenly appeared and decked the former AAA star with a Rolling Cutter before he pinned Hudson for the victory.

NXT then went off the air as Waller and Hayes had a staredown. They will go one-on-one for the NXT Title at Spring Breakin' on April 25.

Carmelo Hayes has been NXT Champion since defeating Bron Breakker for the gold at NXT Stand & Deliver on Saturday, April 1. Grayson Waller had been heavily involved in the NXT Title picture during the latter months of Breakker's reign but he was unable to win the gold.
