CM Punk Name Dropped On AEW Dynamite

CM Punk was mentioned on AEW Dynamite

CM Punk still exists in AEW canon.

The Straight Edge Superstar's name had not been mentioned on All Elite Wrestling TV since Tony Khan announced he had been stripped of the AEW World Championship on the post-All Out edition of Dynamite. There had been hints to Punk through his 'Best in the World' nickname but there had been no direct name drops for the 44-year-old.

That ultimately changed on the May 10 edition of Dynamite. Following a taped promo from MJF in which he discussed his upcoming Four Way for the AEW World Title against "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry, Darby Allin, and Sammy Guevara at Double or Nothing, the 27-year-old ran through his accomplishments, mentioning he had defeated some of the best, including Chris Jericho, Bryan Danielson, Cody Rhodes, and CM Punk.

This is just another sign that CM Punk will be making his return to All Elite Wrestling. Reports have indicated Punk will be back on AEW TV soon and make his return on the inaugural episode of AEW Collision, the promotion's rumoured new Saturday night show, on June 17.

Punk has been away from AEW since his involvement in a backstage brawl with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks following his infamous post-All Out media scrum in September 2022. He suffered a torn triceps in the main event of All Out, an injury which has since healed.
