CM Punk Trying To Convince AJ Lee To Return To Pro Wrestling

Could AJ Lee be set to make an improbable return to professional wrestling?

According to NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez, CM Punk is currently trying to convince AJ Lee (AKA AJ Mendez) to come back to pro wrestling. 

"Definitely, yeah. I try, but he tells me that he's doing the same thing [laughs]. He's trying to get her to come back. But I hope one day she decides to come back and have a match with me," Perez told Pro Wrestling Illustrated.

AJ Lee hasn't wrestled since the Raw after WrestleMania 31 in March 2015, having retired due to health issues following the show. Mendez has since established herself as a writer and she also worked for WOW - Women of Wrestling as an executive producer and colour commentator between October 2021 and August 2023. 

During her time with WWE, AJ Lee established herself as the top star in the women's division and became a three-time Divas Champion. 

Mendez and CM Punk have been married since 2014. CM Punk made his return to WWE in November 2023 and he is reportedly in the process of trying to restructure his deal with the company.
