An interesting development took place...

We not only have a winner for the 2020 New Japan Cup finals, but the changing of alignment for one of the participants.

EVIL defeated 2019 Cup winner Kazuchika Okada to win the 2020 tournament, but not before several individuals got involved.

At one juncture, Bullet Club members Gedo and Yujiro Takahashi ran interference, with Gedo distracting the referee and Takahashi jumping Okada.

EVIL did not win the match there, but later did when, after a ref bump, he struck Okada with two low blows before hitting his Everything is EVIL STO to win the Cup. The victory earns him a shot at LIJ stablemate Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental titles at Dominion on Sunday.

After the match, Naito came to the ring and performed the LIJ salute in the midst of EVIL. EVIL went to reciprocate, but then flashed the "too sweet" gesture before attacking Naito. The other members of Bullet Club stormed the ring to join EVIL in beating Naito down, before the other LIJ members made the save.

The card for NJPW Dominion 2020 now includes:

IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental: Tetsuya Naito (c) vs. EVIL
