Drew McIntyre Comments On Reported Back Injury

Drew McIntyre discusses his injury on WWE Raw

Drew McIntyre was not in action at WWE's house shows over the weekend, with reports noting that the former WWE Champion had been dealing with a back injury and he simply needed to rest.

It was noted that McIntyre was not expected to require surgery and he resurfaced on Monday's episode of Raw, during which he addressed the reports, noting that he had an injury from carrying the weight of 20 men on his back.

This then brought out Kevin Owens for the remainder of the segment and McIntyre ultimately did something that would have been unthinkable only one month ago and mentioned wrestling on WWE TV.

"We're wrestlers in a wrestling ring, let's just freakin' wrestle," he said before his unscheduled match with Owens. The two competitors then fought back and forth before The Usos interfered to draw the DQ.

WWE will seemingly look to take precautions with McIntyre, especially as he has a main event match coming up on September 3 when he challenges Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Clash At The Castle.
