Drew McIntyre's WWE Return Delayed

No Drew McIntyre over the Christmas period

Drew McIntyre won't be back in action in time for the holiday season.

The two-time WWE Champion has been out of action since the November 27 WWE house show which saw him, Kevin Owens, and The Brawling Brutes pick up a win over The Bloodline. McIntyre was scheduled to team with Sheamus and challenge The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships on December 9 but he was medically disqualified from in-ring action. It was noted soon after that Irn Dru is on the shelf due to a ruptured eardrum which he suffered during the main event of Survivor Series WarGames.

McIntyre was originally scheduled to return on the December 26 house show from Madison Square Garden but PWInsider reported that Drew has been pulled from that show as he will not be medically cleared in time for the event. McIntyre will also not be appearing on any of WWE's house shows over the Christmas period next week.

With McIntyre out of action, SmackDown's house shows next week, including the event at Madison Square Garden, will be headlined by Braun Strowman and Kevin Owens vs. The Usos.
