Drew McIntyre Says He Was Never Going To Leave WWE

He had to make the right deal for his family.

Drew McIntyre has commented on his decision to re-sign with WWE, after it was confirmed earlier this week that the Scottish Warrior had inked a new three-year deal with the company.

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, McIntyre noted that he had no intentions of going anywhere else, saying:

"I wasn't going to go anywhere. If anybody out there was unsure reading those internet rumours or whatever. We were just in a place where I had to get things right for my family. I got with Nick Khan, I got with Triple H, they were so understanding and we got things right for the future. Drew McIntyre was never going to go away from WWE and it was awesome that The Rock made that announcement, it's the first time he's done that for anyone on our roster".

The 38-year-old from Ayr is currently feuding with both Sheamus and CM Punk. However, his physical involvement will be limited for the time being as he continues to recover from a badly hyperextended elbow.

Despite suffering the injury during his WWE World Heavyweight Title match with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania XL, Drew still wrestled five matches on the company's post-WrestleMania tour of the UK.
