Erick Redbeard Reveals WWE Asked Him To Return For The Wyatt Swamp Fight

A reunion was almost on the cards...

Back at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules, Braun Strowman looked to destroy his past as he went one on one with The Eater Of Worlds version of Bray Wyatt in a Wyatt Swamp Fight. The Universal Champion and his former mentor battled back and forth around their old home and the match included multiple callbacks to the Wyatt Family.

WWE had even grander plans than what came to fruition as Erick Redbeard (Erick Rowan) revealed during a recent appearance on Sportskeeda Live that WWE asked him to return for the pay-per-view. He turned down their offer, however, because he was busy filming a movie.

Redbeard said: "There may have been a chance I was given a call and there may have been a chance that I was busy filming. So yeah, there is a high probability that I just wasn't able to fill their request."

This isn't the first time WWE has tried to bring back one of the Superstars that was released on April 15 as the company tried to re-sign multiple former wrestlers in May and early June
