Former WWE NXT Performer Claims WWE Had Her Conduct 'Weekly Weigh-Ins'

Sage Beckett is the latest to speak out over alleged mistreatment...

Former WWE NXT performer Sage Beckett has joined the list of people who have spoken out against WWE's practices and alleged mistreatment of talent.

Beckett, who was signed to NXT between January 2017 and March 2018, competed in the 2017 Mae Young Classic, losing in the first round to Bianca Belair.

She responded to a tweet by former WWE star Maria Kanellis Bennett, which was critical of the company for releasing her while being two months postpartum.

Maria herself was responding to a tweet by former Presidential hopeful Andrew Yang, who has been outspoken against WWE and their classification of its talent as independent contractors in the wake of the company's decision to ask talent to cease working with third-party platforms.

According to Beckett, WWE had her conduct 'weekly weigh-ins' while under contract, despite having lost 130lbs prior to signing with the organisation.

Her tweet read: “Or hire you during the ‘Evolution’, AFTER you’ve already lost 130#s over the last 2yrs, then do weekly weigh ins w/ you b/c you need to lose MORE weight, to be marketable, & release you ON International Women’s Day @AndrewYang”.

Beckett, who was trained by Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley at the Team 3D Academy, had previously worked for TNA as Rosie Lottalove and wrestled in Japan before temporarily retiring.

When she returned she did so having lost much weight and was eventually signed by WWE.
