Hiromu Takahashi Wins NJPW Best Of Super Juniors 28

Hiromu Takahashi has made it two in a row.

The Time Bomb faced Chaos' YOH today in the Best Of Super Juniors 28 final from Sumo Hall in a match that became the longest BOSJ final in history, clocking in at 38 minutes and 30 seconds. 

Both men fought back and forth throughout the match but the bout looked set to end in a no-contest after YOH's former Roppongi 3K teammate SHO headed to the ring and took out YOH and then Takahashi with Double-Overhook Piledrivers. 

SHO was eventually chased off by Chaos' YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto and Los Ingobernables de Japon's Shingo Takagi and Tetsuya Naito and they helped their respective faction-mates back into the ring to continue the match. 

Ten more minutes of near falls followed and YOH looked to hit Direct Drive but Hiromu escaped and followed up with a powerful Clothesline and Time Bomb 2 for the victory. 

Hiromu immediately turned his attention to the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship after the match, though, and The Time Bomb challenged El Desperado to a title match at Wrestle Kingdom 16. 

With the win today, Takahashi becomes a three-time Best Of Super Juniors winner, having previously won the tournament in 2018 and 2020. 

Takahashi also wasn't the only wrestler who became a three-time winner on December 15 as Hirooki Goto won World Tag League yet again, this time alongside YOSHI-HASHI.
