'I Was Freaking Out' - Damian Priest Comments on United States Title Win At WWE SummerSlam 2021

Priest won his first title on the WWE main roster

Damian Priest has described winning the United States Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2021 as 'one of the coolest nights in my life'.

Priest won his first Title on the WWE main roster at SummerSlam over the weekend, defeating Sheamus to lift the United States Championship.

The 39-year-old has been undefeated in singles action since moving to Monday Night Raw at the start of 2021, and Priest says moments like that one are what he is desperate for in his career.

Speaking to Scott Fishman, Priest said: "I was freaking out. This is what I want. These are the moments that I need for me, for my career.

"The match was exactly what I thought it was gonna be, hard-hitting and physical. You can see it in my face that I'm lumped up. I wouldn't change anything for that feeling that I had at the end.

"I seen people's positive emotions, being happy, which made me even more happy on top of the fact that I just won the United States Championship. One of the coolest nights in my life, man."
