Jake Atlas On Knee Injury: "I Won't Be Gone Long"

Atlas sustained the injury during AEW Rampage

New AEW arrival Jake Atlas has given an update on his knee, following an injury sustained in a match with Adam Cole during Wednesday's Rampage tapings.

Atlas wrote, “I’m so freaking proud of that match. Thank you @AdamColePro for pushing me to give you ME. My knee will be just fine. Thank you guys for your concern. I won’t be gone long!”

Late in the match, Atlas attempted a springboard from the ropes, but was superkicked by Cole. Somewhere during the course of the sequence, Atlas hurt his knee, and he noticeably clutched it while on the mat. With Atlas unable to get in position for Cole's Panama Sunrise, Cole audibled with a very loosely-applied kneebar for the submission win.

The actual nature and severity of the injury aren't known.

Atlas signed with WWE in October 2019, wrestling regularly on NXT and 205 Live. After getting released last August, Atlas re-emerged on the indies at GCW's Effy's Big Gay Brunch on September 5, where he defeated Effy himself.

Atlas debuted with AEW in late December, defeating Serpentico at a Dark: Elevation taping. The match with Cole was his second with the company.
