Jim Ross: AEW Signing Jeff Hardy Would Be A No-Brainer

Good for the tag team division, JR believes

All Elite Wrestling Announcer Jim Ross believes it's a "no-brainer" for Jeff Hardy to someday wrestle in AEW.

The Charismatic Enigma had spent the last four years in WWE but he was released by the company on December 9, days after he was sent home from a company house show. Fan footage showed Hardy grew sluggish during a match at a live event in Edinburg, Texas and the former WWE Champion tagged himself out of the match and headed backstage through the crowd.

Hardy has battled drug and alcohol addiction throughout his career, but brother Matt recently said he wasn't worried about Jeff's health and he thinks WWE may have 'jumped the gun" in letting his brother go.

Speaking about Jeff's release on Grilling JR, Jim Ross reflected on the dream tag team matches The Hardy Boyz could have in AEW and noted it would be a "no-brainer" for Jeff to wrestle in the promotion with his brother.

"We don't know all the details, so we all rush to judgment that it's probably the worst-case scenario. And I don't know that to be true. I don't know the particulars of this matter. Look, I've had more one-on-one talks with Jeff Hardy than maybe anybody in the business...he's got a good heart and he's got a good soul, but he's got some weaknesses that he has had to deal with...that's just the way of the world, now that we're all willing to talk about things like that," JR said.

"But I hope that someday he's wrestling for AEW. It's a no-brainer. Can you imagine the Young Bucks and the Hardy Boyz? The Hardyz and the Lucha Bros? The Hardyz and FTR, the battle of North Carolina...there's a year right there, easy. So in any event, when the lay of the land is conducive...somewhere down the road that'd be the thing to do, and it would help the tag team scene immensely."

If Hardy will end up in AEW ultimately remains to be seen. The Charismatic Enigma is under a 90-day non-compete clause following his WWE release and he is currently on a meet and greet and acoustic tour from December 16 until January 16.
