Joey Janela Turns On Sonny Kiss On AEW Dark: Elevation

The Bad Boy put a full stop on his partnership with The Concrete Rose

As seen on the August 9 edition of AEW Dark: Elevation, the partnership between Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss is over, after Janela superkicked Kiss on the show.

The two were due to compete in tag team action before Janela’s attack, with their opponents Barron Black and DMC rushing to Kiss’ aid after Janela turned. The Bad Boy disposed of both men and re-focused his attention on Kiss, piledriving him on a metal platform as the crowd booed heavily.

Kiss was helped away by AEW staff, and later reacted to the heinous act on his Twitter account, posting:

“Guess I shouldn’t be too surprised, right?! #AEWDarkElevation”

The two were fixtures on AEW’s YouTube shows, often teaming together in tag action, or accompanying one another for singles bouts. Kiss also competed in a World Championship Eliminator Tournament in Autumn 2020 in Janela’s absence, after Janela wasn’t cleared to compete against Kenny Omega.

Janela last competed on the May 28 edition of AEW: Dynamite, in a losing effort to Adam Page.
