Kenny Omega Tops 2021 PWI 500

Omega is at the top of the mountain

Kenny Omega has topped the 2021 PWI 500. 

Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Al Castle announced today on Busted Open Radio that The Best Bout Machine was the number one ranked wrestler based on the strength of his simultaneous world title reigns in AEW, IMPACT Wrestling and AAA. Omega was previously the number one ranked wrestler in 2018, during his time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. 

The evaluation period for the 2021 rankings ran from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021. Wrestlers were ranked using the following criteria:

  • In-ring achievement
  • Influence
  • Technical ability
  • Competition
  • Activity - Minimum of 10 matches total or six matches in separate months


The top 10 rankings for the PWI 500 are as follows:

1. Kenny Omega - AEW
2. Roman Reigns - WWE
3. Bobby Lashley - WWE
4. Drew McIntyre - WWE
5. Kota Ibushi - NJPW
6. Jon Moxley - AEW
7. Will Ospreay - NJPW
8. Finn Balor - WWE
9. Shingo Takagi - NJPW
10. Rich Swann - IMPACT Wrestling

Pro Wrestling Illustrated have published the PWI 500 since 1991. Past winners include Hulk Hogan, Jon Moxley, Seth Rollins and Sting.
