KUSHIDA Pulled From NJPW Declaration Of Power

No KUSHIDA at NJPW Declaration of Power

KUSHIDA is still out of action.

The former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion was scheduled to face current champion Taiji Ishimori on Monday, October 10, in a non-title match at Declaration of Power. KUSHIDA has been off all NJPW shows since September 21, though, due to hand, foot, and mouth disease and the promotion has pulled him from the October 10 event.

New Japan noted that KUSHIDA is still recovering from his bout with the disease and is not cleared to compete. A change will be made to the Declaration of Power card ahead of Monday's show.

KUSHIDA had spent the last four years in WWE but he returned to NJPW in June 2022.

While Ishimori vs. KUSHIDA is no longer on the show, New Japan will hold several major matches at Declaration of Power. In the semi-main event, Kazuchika Okada will go one-on-one with JONAH before a main event clash for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship between Jay White and Tama Tonga. Shingo Takagi will also defend the KOPW 2022 trophy against El Phantasmo in a Who's Your Daddy Match.
