Kyle O'Reilly: My WWE NXT Character Is Me Trying To Be Authentic

O'Reilly is having fun with his new NXT persona

Kyle O'Reilly had admitted he can't place where he got the base inspiration from for his new NXT persona, saying it stems from him trying to come across as authentic.

Since leaving the Undisputed Era and going solo, O'Reilly has established himself as one of the black-and-gold brand's top babyfaces and has carved out a new, cool guy gimmick on the show.

The former NXT Tag Team Champion is enjoying the freedom to have fun and try out different aspects of his real-life self on NXT television.

Speaking in an interview with ViBe & Wrestling, O'Reilly said: "It's hard to place where the inspiration comes from. It comes from me trying to be authentic myself and I’m still finding it, seeing what really works for this character.

"A lot of this is throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks; but yeah, I am trying to be myself and have fun with it and not stress myself out. That's what this should be about. I am so lucky to be involved in this business so you are trying to have as much fun as you can while you are here."
