Ladder Match To Crown Inaugural WWE NXT Women's North American Champion Set For Battleground

Update on WWE plans for NXT Battleground 2024

The inaugural WWE NXT Women's North American Champion will be crowned at the brand's next major event.

It was revealed by NXT General Manager Ava on Tuesday night's edition of NXT that a six-woman Ladder Match will be held at Battleground to determine the first holder of the NXT Women's North American Title. The competitors in the ladder match will be determined in the coming weeks, first through a combine on May 7 to narrow the field down to 12. The remaining talents will then face off in qualifying matches across future editions of NXT TV.

Michin has already declared for the combine, while the likes of Sol Ruca, Arianna Grace, and Jaida Parker were featured in the segment around the NXT Women's North American Title, suggesting they will also be involved at the combine.

The creation of the NXT Women's North American Championship was revealed during April's Stand & Deliver event. The belt will function as the secondary women's title in NXT behind the NXT Women's Championship.

WWE NXT Battleground will emanate from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, June 9.
