Madcap Moss Wins Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

The latest in a long line of winners

The eighth-ever Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal was held during Friday night's SmackDown, and was won by Madcap Moss.

The final four entrants in the battle royal were Moss, Finn Balor, Dolph Ziggler, and Robert Roode. Moss eliminated both Ziggler and Roode as the pair tried to throw Balor out. After Balor managed to hit Moss with a slingblade, he then charged at Moss, who managed to eliminate him to win.

Upon winning, Moss claimed that he won the battle royal all by himself. Happy Corbin had tried to interfere on Moss' behalf earlier in the match, but left ringside after the two had an argument.

Moss is scheduled to be in Corbin's corner when Corbin faces Drew McIntyre on the Saturday portion of WrestleMania 38.

The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal was introduced in 2014, with the first six incarnations being held either on WrestleMania's main card, or the pre-show. After skipping the match in 2020 due to the pandemic, the battle royal returned in 2021 for the go-home SmackDown.

Prior winners include Cesaro, Big Show, Corbin, Mojo Rawley, Matt Hardy, Braun Strowman, and Jey Uso.
