Naomichi Marufuji To Be A Special Guest At WWE SummerSlam 2024
Marufuji will be a guest commentator for SummerSlam
Last week, WWE superstar and multi-time world champion AJ Styles took a trip to Pro Wrestling NOAH to defeat the iconic Naomichi Marufuji in a great singles match at the Destination event, marking Styles’ first match in a Japanese promotion for over eight years. This was another step in WWE’s continued working relationships building with other promotions around the world.
Some of the favor is being returned to Marufuji, who was announced over the weekend to be a special guest for WWE’s upcoming SummerSlam premium live event on August 3 in Cleveland, Ohio.
More details were revealed in the aftermath, as it was announced on NOAH’s X account that Marufuji would be acting as guest commentator for the ABEMA broadcast of WWE SummerSlam 2024 in Japan.
It was announced that WWE’s new relationship with NOAH would see NXT wrestlers Tavion Heights and Josh Briggs make the trip over to Japan to compete in the upcoming N1 Victory tournament. It remains to be seen if Marufuji or any other NOAH wrestlers will be wrestling on WWE’s programming at any time soon.
