New Contract Offer For Adam Cole Reportedly Planned By WWE

Cole's current WWE deal reportedly expires later this month

Adam Cole is set to be offered a new, full-time contract with WWE by 'a person of influence' within the promotion.

Cole's contract situation has become one of the hottest topics of conversation in the wrestling world after it became apparent that the former NXT Champion's current deal with WWE is set to expire following NXT TakeOver 36 on Sunday 22 August.

The 32-year-old's initial deal actually ran out last month but Cole agreed to a short-term extension to see through ongoing storylines at the very least.

A number of reports indicate that WWE have been caught out by the impending expiration of Cole's contract, having believed he was tied in until early 2022, and Fightful Select are now reporting that Cole is set to be offered a new deal.

The report indicates that 'a person of influence' is putting together and will present Cole the offer. Fightful Select's report also suggests that Cole has not yet been formally offered a new deal with WWE, despite other outlets indicating that the former leader of the Undisputed Era had turned down multiple new contracts with the promotion.

Of course, there is the possibility that those other contract offers that Cole declined were verbal discussions, with nothing formalised.

With less than three weeks until his current WWE deal expires, Cole would be free to immediately join another wrestling promotion if he wished following NXT TakeOver 36.
