Nick Aldis Wants To See If He Can Get To WWE

Nick Aldis left IMPACT Wrestling in 2017 in the hopes of going to WWE

Former NWA World Champion Nick Aldis has admitted that he wants to see if he can still get to WWE.

Discussing his 2017 IMPACT Wrestling departure on a recent edition of the Kurt Angle Show podcast, Aldis said:

"It was time for me to move on. I wasn't released. My contract expired and I didn't sign another one. I was sort of ready to try something else. Truth be told, I wanted to see if I could get to WWE and still do. In my mind, I was like, I've paid my dues, I've worked with a lot of guys, I've done about as much as I can do".

Aldis was scheduled to challenge Trevor Murdoch for the NWA Title at the NWA 74 pay-per-view, but was swapped out for Tyrus. Aldis instead wrestled (and defeated) Flip Gordon on the show's undercard.

He signed a new deal with Billy Corgan's promotion in January of this year, though he did not disclose how long it was for.

Aldis wrestled two matches for IMPACT this year, at the Multiverse of Matches and Slammiversary pay-per-views.
