Randy Orton Scheduled For WWE Raw Opening Segment

Orton's first appearance in many weeks

WWE has announced that Randy Orton will return on tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw, marking his first appearance in more than a month.

Orton subsequently tweeted out that he would be kicking off tonight's program.

Orton has not appeared since the June 21 Raw. He was supposed to wrestle Drew McIntyre and AJ Styles in a triple threat "last chance" qualifier for Money in the Bank on June 28, but it was said that Orton was not cleared to compete. His partner Riddle ultimately qualified to take Orton's place in the match, though McIntyre ended up winning the spot in the ladder match.

Riddle has been feuding with Raw Tag Team champions AJ Styles and Omos, and lost to Omos just last week. Styles and Omos have reigned as champions since winning the titles from The New Day at WrestleMania 37 on April 10.

Segments scheduled for tonight's Raw in Orlando include:

* WWE champion Bobby Lashley and MVP addressing the title match with Goldberg at SummerSlam.

* Charlotte Flair commenting on her loss to Raw Women's champion Nikki A.S.H. on last week's Raw.

* Orton's return
