Report: Adam Cole's WWE Contract To Expire On Friday, August 27

Cole is sticking around until at least Friday

Adam Cole reportedly finished up with NXT at TakeOver 36 on Sunday, but if he will remain with WWE or jump ship to All Elite Wrestling has yet to be revealed.

The former NXT Champion's WWE contract initially expired after The Great American Bash in July but Cole agreed to a short-term extension with the company so he could finish his storyline with former Undisputed ERA teammate Kyle O'Reilly.

In an update, Fightful Select have noted Cole is under contract with WWE until Friday, August 27. WWE are also expected to make Cole another contract offer sometime this week in the hopes of tying down the 32-year-old.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has since confirmed Fightful's report, and he also noted that Cole is considered "done" with WWE by those within the company unless he signs a new deal.

Since Cole is under contract until August, he legally can't appear on AEW Dynamite on Wednesday or Rampage on Friday. All Elite Wrestling are also unable to formally begin contract negotiations with Cole until his WWE deal comes to an end.
