Report: AEW Plans For MJF Revealed

MJF's AEW plans following Double or Nothing return revealed

After five months out of action, MJF returned to All Elite Wrestling at Double or Nothing, taking out his former best friend Adam Cole with a Brainbuster as Maxwell Jacob Friedman exacted a small measure of revenge for Cole's betrayal. MJF then channelled his inner Leonardo DiCaprio as he announced he wasn't "f*cking leaving" and declared himself "The Wolf of Wrestling."

MJF wasn't present on the May 29 edition of AEW Dynamite but he is scheduled to appear on next week's show. According to Fightful Select, the plans currently in place for MJF "seemed out of left field" but they would "likely end up working out very well" for the AEW World Champion. It was hinted on Wednesday night's Dynamite that RUSH could be MJF's first opponent since his return.

All Elite Wrestling are still planning to hold MJF vs. Adam Cole at some point but the match is "still far from a reality" as Cole is nowhere near an in-ring return due to the ankle injury he suffered in September 2023. The angle at Double or Nothing where MJF took Cole out was done to blow off the feud for the time being until the two former best friends can have a singles match.

Original plans before Cole's ankle injury called for MJF and his former friend to face each other in late 2023, and Cole winning the AEW World Championship was considered. Due to Cole's ankle injury, though, AEW ultimately transitioned to Samoa Joe, who defeated MJF at Worlds End.
