Report: Bray Wyatt To AEW "Isn't A Guarantee"

A conflicting report on Bray Wyatt's professional wrestling future has emerged.

It was noted over the weekend by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that Bray Wyatt is "most likely" heading to AEW once his WWE non-compete clause expires. 

"It's not a hundred percent, because his non-compete's not up, but it's most likely happening. It's the same stage when I said Aleister Black long before it happened. It's the same stage. I don't think there's pen to paper or anything like that, but it's an expectation that's pretty strong, let's put it that way," Meltzer said.

Wyatt has spent much of his career in WWE, but he was released by the company on July 31. If he has a 90-day non-compete clause, as is typical with main roster talent, he will be free to sign with another company after October 29. 

A new report from Meltzer's colleague, Bryan Alvarez, has claimed Wyatt signing with AEW is not a guarantee, though. 

Speaking on the Bryan & Vinny & Craig Show, Alvarez said: "I'm not saying that Dave is wrong. He may be right and it may happen, but as soon as that show went up, I started getting text messages and they were from people in AEW... who probably should know. They were like, 'Did Dave say Bray was coming?' Essentially they were unaware of this. 

"Again, I'm not saying that Bray isn't going or that Dave is wrong. Dave may know something they don't know, which would be sort of weird. But that is the story right now. What I think I can safely say is I do not believe it is a guarantee that Bray Wyatt is going to AEW. Maybe he will, maybe he won't... Not saying it's gonna happen, maybe it will, but I would put it at much less than 99.999 percent at this point."

Should Wyatt sign with AEW, he would join up with several other former WWE talents like Christian Cage, Andrade El Idolo, Malakai Black, Chris Jericho and Paul Wight.
